STEP UP are proud to announce the

STOP CHILD ABUSE NOW

Annual Rally & March 2009

on

Saturday 26th September 2009

The Stop Child Abuse Now Rally & March is an opportunity for people to get together, unite in numbers and show no matter who you are that anyone can be abused. We all come together and show the public that we are survivors and will not be forgotten, ignored or unheard. It is one date of the year that we can all meet up, share stories and show others that we are no longer afraid and no longer silent. All are encouraged to join us; male and female survivors, their families, friends and supporters from anywhere in the UK and feel united in not being alone.

No one denies that children are sexually abused everyday,

but many people choose to ignore the simple fact that those very same children

grow up to become adults and eventually they find their voice!

... will you help them speak out loud?

START VENUE

Temple Place, Westminster, London WC2R 2. The nearest tube station to the start of the rally where individuals will meet up is Temple Tube Station. The march will set off at 1.00pm.

There will be police presence who are there to escort members of the rally around the route safely.

ROUTE
The march will walk go up Temple to The Strand, down past Charing Cross and onto Whitehall Place (opposite Downing Street). Here, the attendees of the march will meet for the "open forum". The nearest tube station to the end of the rally where the open forum takes place is Embankment Tube Station.

WE'RE BACK LOUD AND PROUD!... BUT THIS IS YOUR EVENT TOO!

The 2009 March and Rally will allow us all to meet up with old friends and make new ones, and despite the reasons for being there, will also allow us some time to have fun. As always, as many people will be given a chance to speak out, listen to other speakers, and perhaps even just sing your heart out! There will be the usual 'bits to the Rally, such as the release of ballons, allowing you a chance to post your personal messages, and to let go of the the pain you have carried for so long, before the event comes to an end.

TOO NERVOUS TO ATTEND?

Why not get in contact with us first and we can arrange to meet beforehand so at least there is one or two faces you know. Please try to come along, everyone is so friendly and supportive, and if you feel unable to 'show' your face as a Survivor we always need support in other areas, such as Stewards to 'man' the route we take through the streets of London.
