This is a space where you get the chance to write your story, publish your poem, show your pictures and drawings... this is the space where survivors get to speak...the silence is broken and people will listen.
For the purposes of confidentiality and anonymity, some names may have been changed.
The photographs below are from the 'Annual March & Rally Against Child Sexual Abuse - 2008', which took place on Saturday 27th September 2008. The march set off from Marble Arch at approx 12.30pm and as it wound through the streets of central London, hundreds of people at the roadside cheered us, clapped their hands and beeped their car horns.
Finishing off the march, we wound our way into a packed Trafalgar Square and were escorted by the police to Nelson's Column where for next few hours, we sat and listened to some of the most inspirational people anyone would wish to meet stand up, take the mic and have their say. The support from those wandering around Trafalgar Square was fantastic. Many people stood by, watching and listening to what people had to say. It was a truly emotional, fulfilling, inspiring and fun day and I personally cannot wait till next year. Those that were there should all agree that we certainly BROKE THE SILENCE that day!

Often we can find it difficult to say what we want to say, scared that others may not be able to hear those words, even scared of hearing them out loud ourselves. Many find that expressing themselves in a letter, writing a poem or story is a safe way of getting those thoughts and images out of their head and into the here-and-now.
We want to be able to offer a space for you to show your hard work so we've created this word gallery. If anyone wishes to have any of their work on display, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@survivorsmanchester.org.uk

Along with creative writing there are other ways of expressing yourself in a positive and empowering way. Painting, drawing, photography and creating images have been used to assit with healing. Again, we want to be able to offer you a space to display your hard, and often painful, work. Please contact us at info@survivorsmanchester.org.uk if you wish to hang your artwork in this virtual gallery.
