Jo Silvester: Treasurer.

Financial Analyst: ITV.

Jo has spent much of her career working in finance in the voluntary, charitable and public sectors. Much of this time was spent working within the Arts industry; in venue, advertising agencies and for Arts Council England North West. Since leaving this sector, Jo has spent time working for Manchester Citizens Advice Bureau as Finance Manager and is currently a Financial Analyst at ITV.

She has previous experience of board/directorship from her time at Manchester Craft and Design where she helped steer the organisation through a complete re-structure and establish itself as a company ltd by guarantee and a major force in the arts and craft sector. Jo is committed helping and supporting Survivors Manchester, a challenge she is both qualified and excited to tackle.

Why did you choose to become a board member of Survivors Manchester?

Duncan is a person I have a huge amount of respect for so when he asked me to consider becoming a board member of the charitable company that he had started supporting survivors of abuse I was honoured to accept.

What would you like to see Survivors Manchester do in Manchester?

I would like to see Survivors Manchester be the organisation that sets the standard in providing the support and voice needed to empower survivors and their families.

I would like to see Survivors Manchester completely integrated into the health and support services provided in the area by other not-for-profit organisations and government agencies

Do you have a message for Greater Manchester residents?

If you have been affected by abuse you are not alone. Manchester Survivors is here to help, please ring the helpline or visit the website for support

What is your favourite thing about Manchester?

My favourite thing about Manchester is probably the variety the city holds. There’s small independent shops and bars in the Northern Quarter, designer shops on King Street, Cloud Bar at the Hilton. Manchester is a multicultural, diverse, vibrant city.
