A very warm and safe welcome to Survivors Manchester.
SURVIVORS MANCHESTER is a non-religious, voluntary, survivor-led/survivor-run project that aims to create and facilitate a safe space for male survivors of sexual abuse and rape in Manchester, in order for survivors to work through personal, and sometimes painful, issues and so begin a journey of supported discovery and self-healing.
Our work is concentrated on empowering male survivors to make their own positive life choices and begin their own unique journey of healing. Being in contact with other survivors allows one to feel less isolated; feel connected to a community and break the silence and legacy of abuse.
We work with men however they want us to... You're in control of your journey; you can work out what it is you need; and you can help yourself to become the person you really want to be, not what you think others want you to be.
Survivors Manchester fundamentally believes in working ethically and is committed to, and adheres to, working within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. A copy of the document can be downloaded by accessing: BACP Ethical Framework
In order to help and support Survivors create a safe space, SURVIVORS MANCHESTER is unable to work with or offer any assistance to sexual offending adults.
Whatever you may be thinking right now, we can assure you that you are no longer alone. We truly understand how much courage its taken, and how brave you have been to, access our website... Well done, a very warm welcome from us... although you may feel it, I can 100% guarantee that you are not alone! Now you've made this step, why not engage with us, connect with others and break free from the legacy of abuse. We believe that you are an inspirational human being and if your sat here reading this then that's proof enough for us... it says a lot about how you're thinking about/are breaking the silence.
Take your time, read what you can, there's no rush. You do this in your time and with whatever help and support you need.
