Following a number of high profile cases, including the Football Abuse scandal, and with increasing public awareness of male sexual violence thanks to programmes such as Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, Survivors Manchester has seen a huge increase in demand for our much needed therapeutic support services. So we are now delighted to be able to seek to appoint a number of new colleagues to our team!
Senior Trauma Informed Therapist
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £28,485 – £30,153 (NJC SO2 SP 32 – 34)
Benefits: 22 days annual leave (plus 8 days bank holidays); supervision costs; sick pay
Trauma Informed Therapist*
Hours: 30 hours per week (Fixed Term 12 month with view to extension subject to funding)
Salary: £25,951 – £27,668 (NJC SO1 SP 29 – 31)
Benefits: 22 days annual leave (plus 8 days bank holidays); supervision costs; sick pay

  • To support and deliver to male identified victims/survivors of sexual violence, male specific therapeutic support to address the impact of sexual violation, alongside those affected by male sexual violence.
  • To support the management and direct delivery of all therapeutic support to clients.
  • To challenge the myths and stereotypes that keep many male identified victims/survivors of sexual violence silent.
  • To break the silence of the sexual violence committed against male identified people.

We’d like successful applicant(s) to be accredited by BACP, BABCP, UKCP, NCS, BPS or HCPC or working towards accreditation; have good experience of working with trauma; and have a passion for, and an understanding of the individual support needs of men.
Survivors Manchester encourages applications from male therapists, those from the BME community, therapists that are multi-lingual, and those who are qualified in an IAPT compliant modality. This post will include working evenings and some weekends, when required.
The successful applicant will benefit from working with a warm, friendly and supportive team and will undertake challenging and incredibly rewarding therapeutic work with our brave and inspiring service users.
