A message for the family members and/or concerned others of male survivors…

Having a man in your life that you care about who has been traumatised because of sexual abuse, rape or sexual exploitation can be an extremely frustrating, challenging and a frightening ordeal. This can often lead to feelings of extreme loneliness and isolation as you struggle to support them to the best of your ability, whilst not necessarily knowing how to do so.
That’s why Survivors Manchester are currently in the process of developing a service and support network specifically for the family members and/or concerned others of male survivors, because we recognise that you also need support.
We are looking to develop this service in collaboration with The Carers Forum, and The Gaddum Centre, and would therefore like to invite you to an initial ‘focus group’ on:

11 May 2015

Gaddum Centre
Gaddum House, 6 Great Jackson St
Manchester M15 6AX

The purpose of the group meeting will be to discuss your needs as family members and/or concerned others of male survivors, and invite your ideas and visions about what you would like your support service to look like, and ultimately how we can best support you, and meet your needs as services working in collaboration.
If this sounds like something that you would like to attend, or you would like to discuss either the focus group, or the development of the family members/concerned others service, please contact our Clinical Lead, Tom, on 0161 236 2182 or email
