And The Winner Is… Charity Trailblazer of the Year

02.03.15 | News

We are absolutely delighted to announce that our very own founder and Chief Executive, Duncan Craig, has been named as the Guardian’s Charity Trailblazer of the Year 2015!
Over 5700 people voted and Duncan received 42% of the total vote, something that really proves how the silence can be broken. Duncan said

I am so grateful to everyone that took the time to vote, to share the link to the voting page and for supporting me. I’d also like to say a huge congratulations to Dallas Pounds (Trinity Hospice), Ruth Shelton (Emmanuel House), Rosemary Smith (Home-Start), and Freda Casagrande (Hi-Cap UK), all of them trailblazers! When I started Survivors Manchester in 2009, it was because of a need that was identified, born out of my own need to be heard. I saw so many other men that were silent and well, just wanted to stop that pain. I hope that by standing up and being visible, others see its ok and they can help themselves be free of the pain of silence.

The board, staff, and volunteers at Survivors Manchester are all so extremely proud of Duncan and would equally like to thank all the voters for taking the time to vote.
