We’re Hiring Again!
We are absolutley over the moon to be able to announce that we are again on the lookout for new members of the team, this time for a:
Group Facilitator (Male)
Hours: 7.5 hours p/w
– Thu 5.30pm – 9:00 pm (3.5 hours)
– Fri 9.30am – 1.30pm (4 hours)
Salary: £23,398 – £24,964 (pro-rata)
Term: 3 year fixed term contract
Do you have experience of facilitating, hosting or participating in support groups?
Do you want to make a positive difference to male victims / survivors of sexual abuse?
For the past 7 years, Survivors Manchester has facilitated The Safe Room, a peer-led support group for male survivors to work through often difficult conversations together in a shared safe space. The service has been hugely successful and grown in size to the point where we have two spaces with a third in planning stages.
Each week different members take turns to ‘host’ the Safe Room, with the facilitator being the link between the organisation and the group, and all members adhere to a set of guiding principles and regulations that enable the space to remain safe.
The group is ‘semi-closed’ which means that new members can only join the group once every third session in order to assist in developing a safety between attendees (can you imagine how anxiety inducing it would be if new people turned up at every meeting!). We will also limit the numbers to a maximum of 15 members at any one time, any more members in a room than would mean not enough time to be heard.
As the facilitator, it will be your role to ensure the space held by the group is safe; to support the group to move through ‘stuckness’; and to make it not only a welcoming space but to ensure its a space people want to return to.

If you have experience in a helping setting; have experience of groups (as either a facilitator or participant); and are interested in joining our team, then why not contact us for an application by calling 0161 236 2182 or email email@example.com.
Deadline for applications is 12:00 pm on 17.06.19 and interviews will take place on 05.07.19.
